Abstract
We are presenting in this paper the experience of the quality self-assessment
process carried out at the Industrial and Computer Engineering School, of the
University of Oviedo in Spain. Our methodology followed basically the procedure
stated in the National Plan for the Quality Self-assessment of the Spanish
Universities. In order to carry out the whole process, the staff and the
students of the School made a committee, with weekly meetings, who monitored
and analysed all the School parameters of quality: teaching, research, and
services. The committee designed some surveys for the students and staff, and
started a data gathering procedure looking for the strengths and weaknesses of
the organisation. This self-assessment will allow us to start in the near
future the implementation of a quality plan for the School.
